About Us

Frisco Jazz Band is a community-based, 16 piece big band performing jazz and dance standards based in Frisco, Texas - a suburb of Dallas. We have a sound suitable for numerous venues or concerts and dances.

The main goal is to bring a high level of musicianship suitable for public and private performance, while having fun in an enjoyable environment. We strive for excellence in musicianship while maintaining a fun atmosphere.

As a community institution, we also have a charter to educate the community about standard big band music. We want to perform at select venues that will highlight the goals and charter of the band. Performance selection will be discussed by and agreed upon the entire band before commitment. Planned rehearsals are once per week, also as agreed upon by the band.

Instrumentation

As a community band, we wish to keep an open policy, allowing all with the proper qualifications to join. We wish to maintain a specific instrumentation for a traditional big band for performances, as agreed by the members.

If you play an instrument and have interest in sitting in with us, either as a sub or to fill an open spot, contact us for more info or stop by one of our rehearsals!

Rehearsals

We currently rehearse every Sunday from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. at:

Frisco Association for the Arts

6827 Main Street
Frisco, Texas 75034
